‘The DeathRose’ by Lesley Saine (Vol 3)

“Be careful of what you wish for – you just might get it”

The inner child within Despair climbs out and enters a world of enchantment, where within a gleaming castle a clawed hand pulls her into a fountain and her appearance changes as she emerges into another world.  She sees a young girl stumble and fall into an ancient fountain.  Silver and gold water from this fountain sprays out onto her and she appears back on the world of enchantment, with the young girl running ahead of her as though someone had been chasing her.  A young girl who now has silver and gold in her veins from the fountain – who ran straight through thick undergrowth that parted to let her through – and now sits beneath a forgotten sphere shape monument that has statues of mortals and strange unusual creatures around it.

The young girl has an imagination.  Her brother, who had been chasing after her, has not – he stubbornly only sees reality.  When the forgotten sphere shaped monument changes her, the young girl becomes the DeathRose and intends teaching her brother a sharp lesson that imagination is real.

“The darkness falls at they behest”

ThornRose, Jet Bloodstone, Neglect, Emotion, Cascade and Torrent (New Magic Hybrids) continue in their quest to counter the threat of the Death Angels.  Death Angels who originally cloaked the worlds in all encompassing cloying, swirling purple mist that dulled the senses and now, driven by the power and purpose of Evil’s blood still coursing in their veins, they seek to systematically destroy the minds of magic and to steadily obliterate the light.

In the neverending circle of death and life, who will succeed and who will fail?  Death and life, dark and light, evil and good: all have their part to play.

A rose by any other name is not so sweet: “Blood red roses weep, teardrops slip”

ThornRose (‘Thorny’) lives a dull monotonous life on a drab world cloaked in purple mist (courtesy of the Death Angels who feed on lost love, painful emotions and blood).  She has a unique ThornRose sphere which empowers her – circlets of thorns woven into a sphere shape with a dull blood red rose hidden in the centre.  She does not know her true potential.

When she encounters Jet Bloodstone she finds out who she really is, a Wizard/Witch Hybrid.  They join together to search for other Hybrids in order to counter the threat of the Death Angels to the worlds.
